The Irresistible Benefits of Starting a Side-Hustle

Is it time to get hustling?

At Rising Star we often refer to a side hustle.

It occurred to me the other day when I was speaking to a student that not everybody knows what this is.

Plus, it's always been on my radar.

I firmly believe in the power of a side hustle to build wealth and lifestyle.

I have started two.

Both have been life changing!

My first side hustle was my property development company.

This allowed me to quit a job I didn't enjoy, earn more income, build my wealth, and achieve a lifestyle I wanted.

It’s now no longer a side hustle but my full time gig.

My second was a Rising Star Developer.

This one had the same intent - creating lifestyle and wealth - but not for me - for others.

By definition a side hustle is a small business or a gig that is started in addition to a full-time job.

It is a way to supplement income, pursue a passion, or simply have the freedom to make extra money.

The popularity of side hustles has skyrocketed in recent years, as more and more individuals are looking for ways to increase their income and achieve financial stability.

With the now digitally geared environment, and the increasing availability of online platforms and education, starting a side hustle has never been easier.

Many people view side hustles as an opportunity to turn their hobbies or interests into a profitable venture.

One school of thought is that the best side hustle is one that aligns with your skills, interests, and schedule.

Another focuses on your why - if it is to earn more income - then the best side hustle to choose is one that will provide exactly this and they way to do it is educate yourself in how to best execute it.

Some of the key reasons people start hustling are below and often more than one of these will resonate with you.

With the cost of living on the rise and the uncertainty caused by the current economic climate, many individuals are seeking financial security.

Whether it's learning how to market and promote your business, or developing technical skills related to your side hustle, the experience, and skills you gain can be applied to future career and life opportunities.

To provide a sense of balance to those who are feeling burned out or unfulfilled in their full-time job.

By pursuing a side hustle, individuals can have the opportunity to do something they truly enjoy and escape the stress of a traditional 9-to-5 job.

To fulfil entrepreneurial spirit and start their own business.

By starting a side hustle, individuals can test the waters and see if their business idea has potential, before making a full-time commitment.

For flexibility and control over your work schedule.

Whether you're looking to work from home, set your own hours, or simply have the freedom to choose when and how you work, a side hustle can provide the flexibility you need.

When I think about my motivation to start hustling I can tick almost all the above.

And the rewards it has provided are almost all the above.
